It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome you to First Foundation Bank. As you may know, on October 3, 2016, First Foundation Bank announced its agreement with Pacific Western Bank to purchase its Laguna Hills and Seal Beach branches. Please find below answers to questions that you might have.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED (each FAQ is expandable)

 

  • How will my Certificate(s) of Deposit (CD) be affected?
  • Your CD will continue to earn the current rate and the maturity will not change.
  • Can I use my Pacific Western Bank card after the conversion?
  • You can use your PWB debit card up until 4:00 PM PT on December 9 which is when the PWB card will be deactivated. You can start using your First Foundation Bank card at 9:00 AM PT on Monday, December 12, 2016. Please be sure to obtain cash to use over the weekend since branches will be unavailable from December 9, 2016 until December 12, 2016.
  • Does First Foundation Bank offer a free senior account?
  • Yes, First Foundation Bank has a personal interest checking account for our clients 55 and over.
  • Will my account number change?
  • No, your current account number will not change. Your routing number, however, will change to 122287581. You will receive new deposit slips and new checks at no cost to you for your first order.
  • Will I have to contact the Social Security Administration (SSA) to change my direct deposit information?
  • Yes, you will need to provide them with your new routing number. The team at any First Foundation branch will be available to help you with this process. You can also go online by visiting www.ssa.gov or call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213.
  • What changes should I expect after the conversion with online banking?
  • Online banking clients will open the First Foundation Bank website at www.ff-inc.com and log in to their account as usual with the same user name and a new, temporary password.
  • Will I receive a new Debit Card?
  • Yes, you will receive a First Foundation Bank Visa EMV chip-enabled debit card.
  • Will my statement cycle date change?
  • Yes, you will be receiving two statements during the conversion process. You will receive a one-time special statement from Pacific Western Bank that will have the conversion date and then the following month you will receive a First Foundation Bank statement, depending on our cycle date.
  • Will I be able to use my Pacific Western Bank checks after the conversion?
  • Yes, but only for a limited time. You will be able to use your old checks for 90 days after conversion. You will receive new checks at no cost to you for your first order.
  • How will my loan with Pacific Western Bank be affected?
  • There are no changes to your loan account(s). You will, of course, still be required to make payments on your loan. Payments should continue to be made to your lender, even if that lender is Pacific Western Bank.
  • I have accounts at both Pacific Western Bank and First Foundation Bank. What will happen to my FDIC insurance after the merger?
  • FDIC insurance provides coverage up to $250,000 based on account ownership. Your First Foundation banker will be happy to discuss options with you on how to maximize FDIC insurance coverage.

  • What will happen to my transaction alerts?
  • Your alerts will need to be re-created in Personal Online Banking and Business Online Banking.
  • What will happen to my transaction history?
  • You will be able to view all new transaction history in Online Banking.  Your transaction history from 12/9/2016 will be sent to you in a partial statement by mail. 

    First Foundation Bank recommends you back up your statement and transaction history before the conversion.
  • Will you still support Quicken and Quickbooks downloads?
  • Yes, First Foundation Bank will continue to support Quicken and Quickbooks Web Connect and Express Web Connect features.  You will have to update your sync credentials within Quicken, Quickbooks or Quickbooks Online.
  • Will I be able to access my previous statements online?
  • You will be able to access your new statements from First Foundation Bank through Personal Online Banking.  Your Pacific Western Bank statements will not be available through Personal Online Banking.

PERSONAL ONLINE FAQ

  • How do I login to my accounts via online banking?
  • Visit www.ff-inc.com and choose the “Personal Banking” login option in the Sign In dropdown menu located on top of the home page.
  • Will my login credentials remain the same? 
  • Your Username will remain the same. You will be issued a new temporary password by First Foundation Bank. See the login guide for details.
  • Will there be any charges for using the online banking services?
  • Please refer to the Personal Services Fee Schedule for a listing of fees.
  • Will you still offer the same online services that I currently have?
  • Personal Online Banking is a full-featured personal online banking system. It allows you to view information about your account balances and transactions, transfer funds, pay bills, send personal Popmoney payments to others, and transfer to and from your accounts at other financial institutions. It is a powerful personal money management tool.
  • Will my recurring internal transfer continue?
  • First Foundation Bank recommends that you backup your recurring transfer information and re-create the transfers in Personal Online Banking.
  • Will my external transfers continue?
  • The external transfer service will be integrated into our Personal Online Banking system. We recommend that you backup your external transfer information and re-create the accounts and transfers in Personal Online Banking.

PERSONAL BILL PAY FAQ

  • Will my Bill Pay payees transfer over to the new system?
  • First Foundation Bank recommends that you backup your Bill Pay payee information and re-create the payees in Personal Bill Pay.  Payee information will not transfer over to Personal Online Banking.
  • Will my recurring bill payments transfer over to the new system?
  • First Foundation Bank recommends that you backup your recurring bill payments and reschedule them in Personal Bill Pay.
  • Will my bill payment history transfer over to the new Bill Pay?
  • Your Bill Pay payment history will not transfer over.  You should export your current Bill Pay history from Pacific Western Bank’s Online Banking system if you need to backup this information.

BUSINESS ONLINE BANKING FAQ

  • How do I login to my online banking?
  • Visit www.ff-inc.com and choose the “Business Banking” login option in the Sign In dropdown menu located on top of the home page.
  • Will my login credentials remain the same? 
  • Your Username will remain the same. You will be issued a new temporary password by First Foundation Bank. See the login guide for details. If you use certain Treasury Management Services, you will also need a security token.
  • How do I log in using a security token? 
  • Please contact the Digital Banking team for details.
  • Will you still offer the same online services that I currently have?
  • Business Online Banking allows you to view information about your account balances and transactions, transfer funds, pay bills and it offers a variety of transfer tools to manage your cash. It is a powerful business money management tool.

BUSINESS BILL PAY FAQ

  • Will my Bill Pay payees transfer over to the new system?   
  • First Foundation Bank recommends that you backup your payee information from Pacific Western Bank’s Online Banking system. You will need to re-create the payees in First Foundation Bank’s Business Bill Pay.

  • Will my bill payment history transfer over to the new Bill Pay?

MOBILE BANKING FAQ

  • Do you offer Mobile Banking?  
  • Yes, First Foundation Bank offers First Foundation Mobile and First Foundation Business Mobile – both are available now for Android and Apple iPhones.  Visit the Apple App Store or the Google Play store to download the app.
  • Do you offer Mobile Deposit?
  • Yes, First Foundation Bank offers Mobile Deposit through the First Foundation Mobile and First Foundation Business Mobile Apps. Mobile Deposit is included at no charge when you enroll for First Foundation Mobile and First Foundation Business Mobile.

RDC (REMOTE DEPOSIT CAPTURE) FAQ

  • Does First Foundation Bank offer the eCheck Scanner  / Remote Deposit Capture service?
  • Yes, First Foundation Bank offers RDC and RDC Lite for remote deposit services.
  • What is the cutoff time for RDC Deposit?
  • 7:00 PM PT
  • Do you place holds on checks deposited through RDC?
  • For deposits received through RDC, our general policy is to allow you to withdraw funds on the day we receive your deposit. Funds deposited by 7:00 pm PT will be available on the day we receive your deposit. We will consider funds deposited after 7:00PM PT as being received on the next business day. Under certain circumstances we may delay your ability to withdraw funds.
  • Will I need to upgrade or change out my existing scanner?
  • First Foundation Bank will send you a compatible scanner if your existing scanner is determined to not be compatible. If you do not receive a scanner from First Foundation Bank, you can continue to use your existing scanner.
  • How do I install the new drivers and scanning software?
  • Please contact the Digital Banking team at digitalbanking@ff-inc.com or 888-698-7442 for installation support.
  • Will I be trained on the new scanner software?
  • Please refer to the RDC Knowledge Center video for training on the scanning software. You can also contact the Digital Banking Team for support.

ACH ORIGINATION FAQ

  • Does First Foundation Bank have an ACH Origination system?
  • Yes, First Foundation Bank offers ACH Manager, a full featured ACH Origination system.
  • What is the cutoff time for ACH Origination?
  • 5:00PM PT
  • How can I get my ACH Transactions to First Foundation Bank? 
  • Using ACH Manager, you can create transactions in the application.  You can also create templates, upload a spreadsheet file, or upload a NACHA-formatted file to create your transactions in ACH Manager.
  • Can I submit State and Federal Tax Payments?
  • Using ACH Manager, you can submit Federal and State Tax Payments.
  • Will my templates carry over into ACH Manager?  
  • First Foundation Bank recommends that you backup your existing templates and re-create them in ACH Manager.
  • Will my recurring transfers carry over into ACH Manager? 
  • Recurring transfers will need to be re-created.
  • I use a NACHA ACH File to create transactions; do I need to do anything to my NACHA file? 
  • You will need to update the File Header information to First Foundation Bank. Contact the Digital Banking Team for assistance.
